Some classics should NEVER be touched, hat goes for songs and movies. Although Missy,Lil Kim, Mya, Christina Aguliera and Pinks version of Lady Marmalade was a remake of the LaBelle classic it was modern spin done well. Doing a remake of a remake is just *stare* pointless. The photo above is obviously photoshoped to the highest degree but, this scenario is all too possible.

SWV Shoot "Cosign" Video

This SWV reunion is about 7 years late but, better late than never I guess. All it really takes is a hot track to make fans remember why you were on top before and that is exactly what the ladies are serving. The snapped the photo above while shooting a video for the leading single off of their forthcoming album 'I Missed Us'. Take a listen to "Cosign Below"

 

Pink Friday Gets Pushed Back + New Video

Honestly I can't say that I am surprised that Nicki Minaj's sophomore album 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' was pushed back. Valentines day seemed like a perfect day but, now the the project is set to be released on April 3rd. With such a massive following I'm sure the album will move major numbers either way.

The rapper/singer/character released a video for her ode to Lil Kim latest single via the Internet over the weekend. When she posted the following tweet: "Can't premiere on a network b/c its important that my art is not tampered with, or compromised prior to you viewing it for the 1st time" it was pretty much a warning that the video would be over the top, check it out here.

Ashanti Performs "The Woman You Love" Live

As a fan of Ashanti I'll be the first to admit that she isn't the most amazing vocalist but, her recent performance in Atlanta at Tom Joyners Skyline Show was quite impressive. Especially considering that ist been a long minute since she has been in the limelight. I've had "The Woman You Love" on repeat since hearing it for the first time over the holiday season. Not much promo is being done for the track leaving me to think that it may disappear sooner than it needs too.

Now for the juice... Ashanti and former label mate Ja Rule have settled an alleged "beef". Here's what she had to say during an interview with Rickey Smiley about reconciling with the rapper who is currently behind bars:

“We had a three-and-a-half hour conversation and we just hashed out years and years and years of stuff. That’s my brother. I love him and I hope he’s doing well. I think he’s in good spirits. We’ve all been through a lot. We’ve all grown. We’ve all learned. We were all young starting out in the industry. We hashed out a lot of stuff and we needed that.”

Mama Jones Gets Spin-Off

Well people here you have it. Although Mama Jones shut down rumors of a reality show with Keyshia Coles' mom Frankie Lons she never said that she wouldn't do one of her own. No word yet on what network the show will be aired on but, I would not be surprised AT ALL if VH1 was footing the bill. Production has allegedly started already all I need now is some rumor control done by the Jones fam.

Teyana Taylor Slams G.O.O.D. Music Rumors

*Deep sigh* No lie a part of me was hoping that Teyana Taylor was signed to Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music camp, that would of been a major look. Having such a huge co-sign is enough but according to Teyana she's a free agent. The singer wouldn't confirm nor deny her involvement with the label when asked by Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.

All I got to say is... "where da album".

Oprah's Academy For Girls First Graduation

This photograph screams inspiration. Four years after opening its doors Oprah's Academy For Girls is experiencing its first graduation ceremony. The entire class which is only short of 3 of its original students is said to be heading off to colleges throughout Africa and the United States. It would be interesting if O did some sort of documentary following a few of the students as the travel abroad.

Are Beyoncé & Jay-Z Mad At Wendy Williams?

Because of the beginning of a new semester I have not been able to keep up with Wendy Williams's talk show. One thing that everyone has been able to stay updated with is the birth of Beyoncé and Jay-Zs first child. On today's episode of the show she read an article in a magazine that implied that the couple are upset with people they consider friends like Wendy............ *blank stare* insisting that the pregnancy was fake.
